Cornwall Sports Tours provide bespoke, all-inclusive, residential sports tours for schools, colleges, universities and sports clubs.
Our tours run from the Penryn Campus, home to Falmouth University as well as Exeter University’s Cornwall campus. With its modern university accommodation, excellent sports facilities, on-site catering team and convenient transport links, it is the perfect base for Cornwall Sports Tours to run our innovative summer programmes. Cornwall Sports Tours is run by Joel Ashton and Jamie Bridger who both grew up in Cornwall and have played sports for many top clubs within the county.
Joel is the director of Language Tree, Cornwall’s only British Council accredited language school that also runs from the Penryn Campus. Each year, Language Tree welcomes over 300 international students to take part in their international summer school programme.
Jamie has taught PE at local schools for over twenty years, has a Masters in Education, is a UEFA B qualified football coach, ECBCA Level II cricket coach and winner of the 2021 BBC Sports Personality of the Year Unsung Hero Award.
Together with our team of experienced, DBS-checked staff, we provide exciting sports tours that combine high-level coaching with an active excursion programme that brings out the very best in the groups that join us.
With our bespoke approach to designing your sports tour, alongside fantastic local excursions, we provide a perfect environment for groups to bond while also developing confidence and pushing skills and fitness forward.

Sports Tours
We specialise in high-quality programmes where you will get to combine fantastic sports training alongside an active week of brilliant excursions and activities around Cornwall. You can pick the programme that you want and choose exactly how you want your week to look from our extensive menu of options.
Each day you will get to enjoy different cultural and sporting activities around Cornwall. Then, in the evenings, we will make maximum use of the fantastic sports facilities we have on campus to provide quality sports coaching and the opportunity to participate in mini tournaments and friendly fixtures.
We love nothing more than welcoming visitors from across the UK and further afield to join a tailor-made week of activities, excursions and professional sports training and we’ll bring together local sports teams to provide opportunities for friendly fixtures to enhance your week with us.
Remember, your tour is bespoke and can be adapted for your group’s specific requirements.
We offer specialist training days in the following sports:
Rugby, Football, Cricket, Fencing, Tennis and Athletics
Excursions
We offer a range of exciting excursions and activities as part of your bespoke sports tour package.
A typical day starts with breakfast in the dining hall on campus from 8:30am to 9:30am, followed by a guided trip to places such as the world-famous Eden Project or a river cruise along the River Fal. Alternatively, you could choose to enjoy cycling on the Camel Trail or an activity day with BF Adventure. Our daytime excursions include a packed lunch to suit all dietary needs.
For groups who are looking for more intensive sports training, we also offer our ‘Train like a Pro’ sessions as another option when putting together your tour programme with us.
When you join a Cornwall Sports Tour programme, the day doesn’t end at dinner time!
We offer an extensive range of options for the evenings, including training sessions, mini tournaments, fixtures against local clubs or even a quiz night.
There’s always something amazing to do!
Accommodation and Facilities
The Penryn Campus provides the perfect location for Cornwall Sports Tours to offer our high-quality residential tours.
Firstly, there are the modern bedrooms with a mix of single and twin rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The accommodation can only be accessed by electronic key fobs and the friendly university accommodation team provide 24-hour support and security ensuring a comfortable, safe and peaceful stay.
Then there are the dining facilities with a superb range of options for all meals. The on-site catering team freshly prepare all meals including packed lunches which are collected at breakfast. All dietary needs can be catered for as long as these are notified at the time of booking.
Finally, there are the sports facilities! There is an on-site gym and Cornwall Sports Tours has special access to grass and synthetic sports pitches right next to the campus.
